Thunderstorms and rain showers could come to Denver Tuesday afternoon, the National Weather Service said.

Storms could be severe east of Interstate 25, with large hail and damaging winds coming to the area and ending by late evening.

Winds are expected to reach 5 to 15 mph, with gusts up to 22 mph, as the temperature rises to a high of 86 degrees.

Overnight temperatures are expected to drop to 52 degrees before another slight chance of storms and showers on Wednesday, when the high is expected to reach 79 degrees.

Storms are expected to continue through the week after a sunny break on Thursday, with a chance of snow coming on Friday night as the low drops to 31 degrees.

The high of 89 degrees on Thursday is expected to drop 40 degrees to 49 and stay colder through the weekend, with a high of 55 degrees on Saturday.
